Arc provided by NetgalleyThis is the second book in the Netherworld series Where the first book focus on the spirits this one is about the demons I don t think that having read the first one is essential as the principal elements are uickly summarized in this one In the last book Kerilyn a demon hunter was killed and brought back to life by the Spirit Lord before going away with him in his realm to become his ueen However as she is now part human and part spirit that has caused an imbalance between the three realms humans demons and spirits worlds The Lord of the Demons wants to take revenge on his brother the Lord of the Spirits and so he sends one of his sons Jaral to investigate this imbalance in the human world There Darcy a demon hunter is investigating the cause of the sudden appearance of spirits outside the night of Halloween When they meet Jaral decides to force an alliance on Darcy by threatening her friends while also trying to seduce her I like this paranormal romance but less than the previous one Here I thought that the middle of the book was dragging on a bit too much with both characters wallowing over their feelings and going back and forth between trusting the other or not However I still appreciated the relationship development As for the plot it was light and rather predictable but still interesting Between reading the first book of the Netherworld series and this one I read all of Ms Davies novella and I think that she makes a good use of the format with her paranormal romances Each one has an interesting world building a good plot and a charming romance and they always left me satisfied
